Having purchased the standard edition of this book, I was wondering if there are any special editions still available to buy (which can be shipped to the UK). As unfortunately, the only available one on Amazon cannot be shipped to the UK. I would really appreciate it if you could take the time to point me in the right direction.

The Special Edition for the UK is on it’s way. I’m hoping to email everyone an affiliate link and I’ve been promised by Titan that I will be informed of the release date of the Special Edition and also the 100 Super Limited Edition on Ebay in advance of that happy (and long awaited) day. I’ve posted on here before but I feel the need to reiterate. Chris Foss is truly one of the titans of modern art. There is no doubt in my mind that his influence is so pervasive that we live in a world actually influenced by his creative genius. I had the great good fortune to recently meet Chris and his daughter Imogene and was finally able to thank him personally for how he has been a powerful force influencing my life. Buy his latest book, open your mind to its beauty. You won’t be disappointed.

I’ve noticed in Hardware that one of the illustrations has a caption saying it is from Diary of a Spaceperson 2.
I just wondered if this was a new work in progress project by Chris, and a book due to published in the future?

Yes, it’s a new book which Chris has in development, although I’m not sure how far along he is with it.
Hi Tim Re: Diary of a Space Person II, there were about 30 – 40 pictures under this heading on view on the Net back in 2005, mainly semi-naked women and only a couple of “hardware”.

Chris: i was delighted to see you on the BBC video. I went to Shebbear College (1942-19470 and have vivid and kind memories especially of your Mother, I was often in trouble and your Father would make me come to your house to do my undone work. Your Mother would often come in with goodies and your Father would give a mock protest that I was meant to be there to be punished. Chris Foss’ artwork turned me on to Azimov’s sci-fi (and sci-fact) in the ’70′s and I would always look for his iconic signature as I took Isaac’s latest home. The astounding detail brought the stories to life; you could almost hear the space-lasers crackling, or the dull thud of distant torpedoes. I haven’t read any science fiction for years, but your website has brought back memories of that happy time. Thank you both, I shall be re-visiting your site again for the latest news.
Just wanted to thank Imogene and Chris for the amazing print and kind inscription. Their care and patience has made me a fan – of their shop section, and it goes without saying Chris’ art, for life!

Dear Chris Foss,
I hav started work on a model based on the Nostromo Refinery. It is built of LEGO’s and will be about 8 inches long, 7 1/2 inches wide, and 5 inches tall. I am obsessed with symmetry so it will be that. I also have no idea of what to call it. I will post some pictures when I am finished.

I have finished the ‘rough build’ of the nostromo based refinery and over the weekend I’ll complete the finishing touches. I also have the commercial towing vehichle done too. I hope to email the pictures soon!

High quality sfi art book featuring fabulous spaceships and alien landscapes. Up to the 16th century in Europe, what are now famous artists concentrated on religious art showing images of biblical characters in heaven etc. In some ways these images are the modern equivalent, reinterpreting heaven as amazing alien worlds and civilisations set in the vast cosmos. Quite why artists like Tracey Emin are regarded more highly and more famous than Chris Foss is one of lifes little mysteries.
Even at £25 full price, the book is still excellent value for money.
The only improvement I would like to see is a special edition bound in a harder wearing leather cover.
